He either was very tired. Or had diarrhea. Because he was going through the motions and doing it quickly. So very different from my friend Bishop Honesto Ongtioco. For years, I’ve admired how the good bishop celebrates Mass. He does it with so much passion. Like he speaks every word with fire. And he acts every gesture with love. Two weeks ago, I had lunch with this great man. I asked him why he does his Masses this way. He said something so profound, I’ll never forget it. He said, “I always imagine every Mass to be my first Mass and my last Mass.” For me, the key word is imagine. He added, “What if I died in my sleep tonight? I really don’t know, do I?” Today, I invite you to take a very special 30-Day Retreat with me. No, I’m not asking you to go to a Retreat House with me. You’ll just do it wherever you are. (I’ll talk more about it later.) Using the power of your imagination, you’ll allow death to be your teacher. Just take care of business the right way and don't waste time socializing at the water cooler. You think you have everything totally under control, and you probably do. True. We are not judges and it’s not our business. We can be judges, though, of ourselves. Turning the tables now and asking the real Judge for a “pre-trial” assessment is most helpful while there’s time for “appeals.” Whether we like it or not, time will come when we will face Jesus Himself. This time, impressions and popularity won’t matter, and text votes don’t count. What matters is how we have lived our Christian life doing His will.

REFLECTION:

When was the last time you had a “pre-trial assessment” called confession? When you squeeze an orange, what you get is orange juice. But when you squeeze a Christian, what do you get?
Trials, crisis, misfortunes — they are a part of our lives. No one gets through life unscathed. What differentiates one from the other is how we take life’s adversities. Do we resist them or do we welcome them as opportunities for growth? Do we harness our strengths or are we weakened by our weaknesses? The mark of a true Christian is if we can still see Christ in our setbacks.Five years ago, we lost our mother. Her illness up to her death had been a trying time for all of us — we were squeezed hard, so to speak.
The experience left some scars but they enlarged my heart to take in the pain of another. By God’s grace, my mother’s death bore some good fruit in me: inner strength, compassion, fortitude.

REFLECTION:

When trials come, what fruit comes out of you? Is it good or rotten?

Who is Napz ???

a vry simple person ho wants 2 mek pipol proud of wat i'm doing esp. my parents.i am physically challenged.wen i a was 8 yrs old, life did not exempt me from cruelty, my lower extremities were paralyz. its almost 1 yr stay in the hspital hoping 4 rcovry & now, its been 11 yrs. i would just think that what i hav ryt now is not a punishment that i merit from GOD but instead a reward. inspite of all the pain, there are still smiles coz i beliv sumhow, sumwhere i will surely achiv the peak of my purpose.thank God

F ud see me in person, i'm sure ur
1st instinct wud b quite negativ. mybe ul say dat i'm STRIKTO or MAYABANG, bt i also hav a gud side. i cud say dat i'm a gud adviser f u hav probz or f u nid sum1 2 listen,i'm always willing.
i can b ur FRIEND.

i hate dos pipol na mejo MADALDAL, try 2 way d mood of d person. sumtyms, u wud think naaawa kau sa situation q, its oke but wag mxado OA. i also share d same burdens w/ other so i wud b HAPI f u treat me as ordinary person. but
stil i'm glad 4 dos concern pipol.
